Glenese Blake
Glenese was the winner of the inaugural Dame Sister Mary Leo Scholarship and a finalist in the Mobil Song Quest. She was a recording artist for Radio New Zealand and sang with New Zealand Opera. Awarded an arts Council Scholarship to study overseas, Glenese pursued a successful singing career with many opera, oratorio and concert appearances in England.
Whilst living in England, an interest in vocal pedagogy developed and Glenese was asked to be a founding member of the British Voice Association, teaching at Marylebone Voice and Therapy Unit, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and in private practices in London and in bedford.
On her return to New Zealand she was appointed Senior Lecturer in Voice at the University of Auckland, where she developed the Voice Department to where it became one of the most competitive and innovative voice departments in New Zealand. ...more
Michael Blake JP AAMINZ
With an international career as a Tenor Soloist and in a numebr of professional choirs, such as the BBC Singers, Michael specialises in working with High School Vocal Groups and teaching students at this age.
Groups are taught the foundations of good vocal technique and then explore a wide range of vocal singing, from unison songs through to polyphonic singing, from classical to musical theatre.
Michael is able to bring his coaching expertise into the vocal setting, exploring potentials and possibilities with the groups and the individuals.
